Here’s what to expect: 

  • Each program is 90 minutes
  • For children between 18 months and three-and-a-half years
  • Caregivers are required to stay for the duration of the program
  • Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray
  • Jr. Forest Explorers runs every Monday morning during the summer
  • Jr. Forest Explorers will be held twice per month during winter 2022
  • If you wish to engage in our programming in French, please indicate it during your registration.

FAQ

Do I need to register? If the program is free, can’t I just drop-in?

Yes, you will need to register to attend Jr. Forest Explorers. 

My child is four years old but hasn’t started school yet. Can they attend?

Yes! Children up to age four are welcome if they haven’t started school yet.

One of my kids is in the specified age range but their siblings are not. Can they attend together?

We usually accommodate siblings. However, if you’re looking to bring a child outside of the specified age range, we ask that you please contact us at downsvieweducation@clc-sic.ca beforehand. Siblings must be five years of age or younger.

Can I bring my dog to this program?

Pets are not permitted at this program. Service animals, however, are always welcome.  

Is this program accessible? 

This program often takes place in the Urban Forest where there are unpaved dirt paths however, we try to accommodate program participants of all abilities. Please email us at downsvieweducation@clc-sic.ca for more information.

Is this program also offered in French? How can I sign up for a French session?

Our regularly scheduled Jr. Forest Explorers sessions (Monday mornings) are offered in English. However, we also run French sessions upon request. Please send us an email at downsvieweducation@clc-sic.ca to request a French session. In the email, kindly include the upcoming program that you’re interested in.

What happens if I cannot make it to the program I registered for?

If you have registered for a program and are no longer able to attend, please email us at downsvieweducation@clc-sic.ca to let us know as soon as possible. We often have long waitlists, so we appreciate the advance notice.
